Yes I know this one is a stretch. But Jess really loves raspberry danish you guys, and I wanted to make some for her. So, this week, we're using its brief product-placement-mention in Ant Man & The Wasp as an excuse to whip up batch after batch of this delectable dessert of Denmark.

    • This came up in my feed today, and it's spooky. I was just thinking about my Dad, who died in June. People who were all about the prune Danish or the poppy seed Danish are fewer in number, and making these Danishes to give my daughter that "family taste memory" was a thing I decided to do yesterday. Spoooooky. Antman and the Wasp is a movie that makes my kid think of her own Dad. It was a big family deal to see it in theatres-- she was finally old enough to see a movie with fighting in it on a big screen. Thanks SO much for this.

    • @Jeanjaques Ibrahim definitely not.. It was made to make Danish butter easily distinguishable from foreign butters of lesser quality. At least that's what they used as the reason for the brand. It wasn't made by just one producer, but anyone (who could meet the quality standards) could aquire the license to produce lurpak, or as it was called back then Lur (the instrument on the packaging) branded butter.

  • When I make danishes at my bakery, I put the filling of the danishes after it has been baked in the oven so the jam doesn’t go everywhere in there. The filling I use is custard and I don’t put that in either since it will make the danishes look bad when they come out. Bake them without anything first then put the filling and jam on and put them back in the oven for 1-2 minutes so it gets warm again.

  • Just a quick tip, with a danish if jam would be too funny you can make a quick sauce by cooking the fruit you want to turn into a sauce with sugar over the stove. Add a little bit of corn starch and cook until saucy.
